    Counseling Inc.

"Strive to fight your way forward and not be held down by the past."

Let us help you on your journey by working along side you, to encourage and assist you with the tools to succeed.

I began my journey of helping others over 20 years ago after earning my undergraduate degree in Social Work. Since that time, I have worked with individuals and families impacted by the effect of abuse and neglect, including issues related to substance abuse and trauma. I earned my master’s degree in counseling from Northwest Nazarene University in 2018, with a specialization in marriage, couple, and family counseling.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have training and experience working with adults and children impacted by domestic violence and sexual assault. I have also worked with couples and families experiencing interpersonal stressors related to communication problems, infidelity, and parent/child conflict. I take a trauma-informed and systemic approach to therapy by integrating models such as Internal Family Systems, Gottman Method, and Trauma-Informed CBT. I am trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), evidence-based techniques used to treat trauma, anxiety, and phobias.

It has been my life’s work to help others. For the past 20 years, I have worked in healthcare, child welfare, and the non-profit sector doing just that; coming alongside those in need in a variety of capacities. My love for all humans continues to motivate me to learn and grow every day. As a counselor, I not only integrate my own lived experiences, but my professional training, knowledge, and skillset to meet the client where they are and develop goals to heal and overcome adversity.

My undergraduate degrees are in Philosophy and Social work with an emphasis in Human Rights. As a Licensed Master Social Worker, LMSW, I am passionate about creating a safe space for healing and am dedicated to empowering clients to see their strengths, abilities, and inherent value through a collaborative therapeutic approach.  I am trained in a number of therapeutic modalities including but limited to: EMDR, TF-CBT, CBT, MI, SFT, DBT, and specialize in acute and complex trauma.

It is an honor and a privilege to serve teens (13-17), adults, couples, and families as a therapist. Together, we will Strive to enhance your human experience by healing the past, living in the present, and finding joy in the future.

My focus in mental health has been oriented towards helping those dealing with depression, anxiety, complex trauma, self-harm, domestic violence, LGBTQIA+ issues, and chronic mental illness. Depending on my client’s specific situation and needs, I may use techniques rooted in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR therapy, and/or Solution-Focused Therapy. I aim to use a good sense of humor and a strengths based approach to process difficult feelings and explore opportunities for growth and acceptance. Prior to receiving my Masters degree in counseling at Northwest Nazarene University in 2023, I gained valuable experience working in both inpatient and outpatient mental health, during which time I was most successful working with adult individuals and older adolescents. Currently, I am not working with children under the age of 12 or couples, and do not provide family counseling services.

My name is Oksana and I am a licensed Master Social Worker, and one of my main passions is bringing healing to those who have endured traumatic or stressful life events.

I work with children (10 years and older), adults, and families and run therapeutic groups that include Art therapy, Trauma 101 and Parenting for those impacted by abuse. I help them develop positive self-perceptions and solidify their interpersonal relationships so they may feel secure, at peace, and whole. Since no single strategy works for everyone, I have been expanding my knowledge in several modalities, such as  EMDR therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Strength-Based Therapy. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology and criminal justice and my master’s degree in social work from Boise State University. I have been a counselor at Strive Counseling and the Family Justice Center since May 2022.

We commonly feel our lives fall apart when we go through trauma or significant life challenges. Allow me to come with you on your healing journey.

Tylene Channer, LCSW
Clinical Director/Owner

 .

Counseling is about striving for progress and sustainable changes, not perfection. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 23 years of experience as a professional in both social work and counseling settings.  I currently provide counseling services for individuals (teens through adults), couples, and groups. I believe in making sure there is a good fit between the client and counselor and empowering people through focusing on their own inner strengths and abilities. I recognize that each person is unique in their own way and through the therapeutic process we will find what best helps you as an individual.

I use a variety of therapy techniques to address problems. I have been providing EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapy for an often times quicker approach to trauma, anxiety, and stress for 14 years with high success rates. I am trained in ART  (Accelerated Resolution Therapy) and I am also certified in hypnotherapy. I have extensive training in trauma focused-CBT, and a variety of other techniques. I am able to supervise professionals as a registered clinical supervisor.
